Three versions of a C-class coupe are offered with three powertrains that seem to be miles apart in performance. Standard 7-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters can be found in first couple of grades, while AMG model gets corresponding 7-speed automatic gearbox with aluminum shift paddles.

However, they are now much closer to the flagship E-class. Physically, C250 and C350 don’t differ much. They have the same singular headlights and grille with two chrome stripes and a star. Only visible difference is in wheels as C350 gets 18-inch options, while C250 remains on basic 17-inch wheels. AMG model ups the ante with 18-inch 5-spoke wheels and different grille with a single chrome bar.

Interior is now more luxurious than it used to be in previous generation, but even older models were high-end. You can browse between wide array of leather seating surfaces in plenty of colors. AMG version even adds Nappa leather to the equation, while apart from burl walnut wood and aluminum trims, it also offers carbon fiber veneers. 5.8-inch color display sits atop the dash, while central controller is mounted upon a console. 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-class coupe lineup is packed with advanced tech upgrades and safety features aren’t any different as well. Base models are rated at 22/31 mpg, while V6 lowers the figures to 20/28 mpg. AMG is by far the most fuel-consuming coupe of the lineup with fuel efficiency of 13/19 mpg. It also costs the most with a price tag of at least $63,000, while C250 and C350 cost $39,400 and $44,050 respectively.

2015 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe

The 2015 Mercedes Benz GLE Coupe is the first car from the German manufacturer to be available only in an AMG form, making from it the only competitor for the current model of the X6. Unlike what the name suggests, the GLE is based on the M Class, meaning it shares its chassis as well as part of its engines with it. Unlike the M model though, the GLE will get a completely different design which borrows heavily from coupe cars. The engines are also going to be tuned by AMG in order to deliver the most amount of performance in order to make it a real sports SUV.

The new 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is going to be available in two available forms. The base model is going to be the GLE450AMG which will get a smaller engine than the GLE63AMG. The latter is also the high performance version which will come with a tuned chassis, different wheels as well as a more aggressive body kit. On top of all that, the high performance version will come with a few differences inside the car, some of these being borrowed from the ML63 model which was released in 2014. The base price for the 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe hasn’t been announced just yet but it is expected to come at well over 100.000 dollars for the base model.

Engine

Engine wise, the base GLE450AMG will get a 3 liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine which is also found on a few other models. Unlike on these though, on the GLE it will have more power thanks to being tuned by AMG, so expect at least 360 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque, making it quite potent for the small displacement. This engine is also going to offer the best fuel efficiency out of the two, being able to return around 25 MPG on average. The higher end model on the other hand will come with a 5.5 liter twin-turbocharged V8 which is going to develop 518 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. In the sport version it might provide even more than that but Mercedes said that it is plenty powerful to become one of the fastest SUVs on the market.

Both engines are going to offer the 2015 Mercedes Benz GLE Coupe a 0 to 60 MPH time of under 6 seconds and both of them are going to be electronically limited to 155 MPH. There is going to be an option though which will raise the limitation for the more powerful engine to as much as 180 MPH, making it faster than even the Cayenne. This is possible thanks to Mercedes’s new 9 speed automatic gearbox and a massive pair of tires. Both in the front and back the GLE will get 21 inch rims with 285/45 tires in the front and some massive 345/40 tires at the back, giving the GLE the widest tires on a production vehicle to date.

Inside the car things are going to be quite luxurious mostly thanks to the Mercedes heritage. The GLE will get standard leather upholstery, satellite navigation with a detachable screen, triple zone automatic climate control, electric seats with an included massage system, adjustable rear seats as well as a fully integrated infotainment system with internet access.

The exterior on the other hand will best be described as butch. The car looks incredibly good for something that a few years ago was considered ugly. The muscular body with the coupe arch of the roof gives the GLE a more aggressive look than any other of its competitors. The front is quite similar to the ML but at the back, the GLE is unique with a quad exhaust system and a pair of LED tail lights inspired by the older coupe models of Mercedes.

2016 Mercedes Benz GLS Release Date Price

The current generation of the GL has been launched back in 2012 and it is scheduled to get a mid-life update with the 2016 model-year. This time around though, Mercedes is actually going to change the name of their top-end SUV in order to fit their new naming scheme and on top of that they are also going to add a few new models to the range. The upcoming 2016 Mercedes Benz GLS has already been caught testing in Germany with mild camouflage on it and it seems that not only the exterior will change but the car is expected to get an all new interior as well.

Release Date And Price

The powertrain as well as its platform should remain very similar to the current model but we might see a few changes under the hood. The car is expected to be first showcased at the LA Auto Show with sales starting shortly after that. The price will likely increase from the current $65,000 to around $70,000 or a bit more than that in order to align the car to the S-Class. Its top end model on the other hand will now get past $300,000 because this will be the second model to get the Maybach treatment, thus becoming one of the most luxurious cars in the World.

Engine wise, the 2016 Mercedes Benz GLS is going to make use of the same engines as the 2015 model, but only in the base trim levels. The base car will get a 3 liter twin-turbocharged V6 good for 362 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque while further up the range, a 4.7 liter twin-turbocharged V8 is going to deliver up to 429 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. The AMG model on the other hand has been rumored to get rid of the current 5.5 liter V8 in the favor of a much smaller unit. Some say that the GLS is going to get the 4 liter twin-turbocharged AMG mill from the AMG GT. This may be tuned in order to provide more than 550 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque while having a much better fuel consumption than the older V8. All of these will likely be available with the same 7 speed dual-clutch automatic as before and with a standard all wheel drive system.

The Maybach version of the car on the other hand is going to be a bit more different. This is expected to get a 6 liter twin-turbocharged V12 which will provide around 500 horsepower and more than 700 lb-ft of torque. The 7 speed gearbox is likely going to be replaced with an 8 speed unit while the all wheel drive system will be tuned to deliver better all weather performance.

Exterior Design of GLS Model

 

The exterior design will change, but not as much as we would like. From the looks of it, it seems that the upcoming 2016 Mercedes Benz GLS is going to get an all new front fascia which will likely bring it closer to the S-Class in terms of looks. The headlights should be LED lit as standard and the grille will get a completely new look. The wheels should also be all new across the range and the back may receive a new exhaust system for the top end models. The Maybach edition will get its own look, similar to the S600 Maybach released some time ago.
