Ubisoft Toronto managing director and executive producer Jade Raymond is leaving Ubisoft after 10 years with the company, she announced today.
Raymond began her career with Sony, then moved to EA, but rose to prominence within the industry at Ubisoft as producer on Assassin’s Creed and executive producer on Assassin’s Creed II. She has also served as executive producer on Watch Dogs and Splinter Cell: Blacklist and helped open up the Ubisoft Toronto studio, where she has served as its managing director since 2009.
“I’ve spent 10 extraordinary years at Ubisoft, and I am proud to have been part of many of the best teams in the industry making truly remarkable games,” Raymond said in a statement. ”This is one of the hardest decisions of my career, but the Toronto studio is strong and on a solid path. I’m confident that now is a good time for me to transition leadership of the studio to Alex and to pursue my other ambitions and new opportunities. Stay tuned for more on what’s next for me, but for now, I’d like to thank Ubisoft for its partnership through the years, and I wish them the very best in all their next endeavors.”
While Raymond hasn’t said specifically what she will be doing next, she has indicated on Twitter that she will remain in videogames.
Meanwhile, as of October 29, Alexandre Parizeau, a 15-year industry veteran himself, will be taking over Raymond’s managing director responsibilities.
