Dodge Durango use a few upgrades to stay competitive. A reshaped crosshair grille, new projector beam headlamps, LED running lights and taillamps and a raised front bumper give the Durango a subtle update and emphasize its road-mowing posture.

The Durango is still a rear-wheel-drive SUV, with two available all-wheel-drive systems. The AWD system designed for the V8 offers a low-range transfer case useful for light off-roading, towing on grades or reversing a trailer. Properly equipped, a V6 Durango can tow up to 6,200 pounds. The V8 increases that to 7,400 pounds. All Durangos come standard with trailer sway control.

Dodge Durango get new gearbox pairs with the standard 3.6-liter V6 that generates 290 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, or an optional 5.7-liter V8 making 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. The transmission uses a rotary gear selector, while steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters offer the driver more precise control over gearchanges. Dodge says the new V6 Durango should return about 25 highway mpg. Importantly, New eight-speed automatic transmission – standard on V6 and V8 – delivers up to a 15 percent improvement in fuel economy and enhanced performance.

The 2014 Dodge Durango is available in five trim levels: SXT, Rallye, Limited, R/T and Citadel, all packaged to meet the needs of individual customers.
