The Xbox One finally beat out Sony’s PS4 in sales last month—at least in the U.S. and U.K.—Microsoft’s Xbox Marketing corporate vice president Mike Nichols said in a prepared statement.
Increased unit sales for Xbox One over PS4 is largely attributed to the system’s price drop and various holiday bundles. Nichols did not, however, issue any exact sales numbers for the Xbox One.
Nintendo likewise had a strong showing in November, with 3DS sales increased 40 percent over November 2013 and Wii U sales more than 10 percent. The latter, no doubt, spurred by Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, which Nintendo said they sold nearly 710,000 units of since its November 21 launch.
In other game-sale related news, here’s NPD’s breakdown of the best-selling titles from November:
- Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Super Smash Bros.
- Madden NFL 15
- Pokemon Alpha Sapphire
- Far Cry 4
- Pokemon Omega Ruby
- NBA 2K15
- Assassin’s Creed Unity
- Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Bummer ‘bout those last two, though I think The Master Chief Collection is finally up and running after, you know, a month of matchmaking woes.
