The Jabuticabeira tree stands alone in the backyard of this 60 m² house in Pinheiros, in the west of Sao Paulo. The challenge of landscaper Gigi Botelho was to create in it a garden, which would please the couple of residents and also could be used by the two young daughters, without harming the plants area. For the girls, she designed a dollhouse of 8 m², with high along the wall of their neighbor, all made from Brazilian Cherry (Jatoba) wood. To stay protected from the weather, the material received a special varnish. Underneath, the covered space became an exclusively meals area for their children. While for other residents, she built a concrete bench, with seat of the same wooden around the jabuticabeira tree. With iron trellises and demolition wood, she made a panel with three water sources in the wall on the other side of the yard. To facilitate drainage of rainwater and the maintenance of the garden, the landscape overlaid it floor with a blanket of bidim covered with gravel.

The mini anthuriums underlie the jabuticabeira and in flowerpots of the dollhouse designed by landscaper’s office and made with logs and boards of jatoba, same material used on the bench.
