This eco-chic, luxurious cottage is called The Drew House, which is situated on the coast of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia, and belongs to the renowned Australian photographic artist, Marian Drew and her family. This cottage is specially built for a holiday retreat featuring an ideal place where we can have perfect relaxation and freedom, reconnecting our self with the nature and peacefulness.
However, the big question of this house is the awkward design between its exterior and interior décor, where the outside features an exotic touch that merges perfectly with its surrounding full of palm trees and vegetation, comparing to the inside that has a contemporary décor, promising the house to be completely revised.
Some details of the house are totally beyond their physical appearance. The house is made largely of ecological wood, and its care for the environment is not only limited to materials of construction, since the home also provides various eco-friendly systems, including rainwater tanks, solar hot water and electrical panels, an energy efficient passive design and a community water recycling system, for everything but drinking and bathing, make the house largely self-sufficient. As you can see the ecological philosophy is truly presented throughout the house.
Moreover, since this cottage is located in a region with an almost tropical climate, it is important that it can be ventilated so the moisture does not cling to the wooden walls, and to avoid high level of humidity, it was built with peculiarities with dynamic indoor and outdoor spaces
Finally highlight is the system of independent modules on which the house is distributed. This cottage is not just a block where spaces were created for different sections of the house. This wonderful home is spread over parts linked with almost independent different parts of the house. Thus, the separated pavilions allow for the privacy of holidaying family groups and also more easily integrate into the existing landscape, which has been minimally disturbed. I do not know if he had said, but I really like this house.
