Head of Xbox Japan Takashi Sensui is resigning from his post and moving to Microsoft’s HQ in the U.S., Famitsu reports.
Sensui, who took over as Head of Xbox Japan back in 2006, will be transferred to Microsoft’s Redmond HQ where he will work as the general manager for Interactive Entertainment Business. He will work under Xbox vice-president Mike Nichols and support Xbox Japan from the U.S. as part of an Xbox Japan reorganization.
Consumer and Partner Group General Manager Yoshinami Takahashi and head of the Consumer and Partner Group Retail Business Nobuyoshi Yokoi will take charge of Xbox Japan.
The Xbox One has had a terrible time in Japan, only managing to sell 23,562 units in its first week. Just to compare, the Xbox 360 sold around 60,000 units in its first week. According to the latest Media Create report, the Xbox One sold 776 units in Japan last week.
