Dark Souls II coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in April 2015

Dark Souls II is making the jump to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next year as Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, Bandai Namco and From Software announced today.

This enhanced version of the game includes all three previously released DLC chapters (Crown of the  Sunken King, Crown of the Old Iron King, and Crown of the Ivory King), updated visuals, and patch 1.10, which introduces ”an additional NPC to seek out along the treacherous quest through Drangleic as well as expanded story, in-game events, improved balance, and online matchmaking functionality.” From Software has also increased the maximum number of players in a multiplayer session to six.

Scholar of the First Sin will also be available on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. However, only the PC release includes all of the improvements mentioned above. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions are bundled with all three DLC releases along with everything mentioned above, bar the updated visuals and increased player count in multiplayer.

Players who already own Dark Souls II on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC will receive patch 1.10 for free.

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin is set to launch April 7, 2015 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
