First Far Cry 4 DLC ‘Escape from Durgesh Prison’ arriving January 13

Far Cry 4’s first DLC, Escape from Durgesh Prison, will launch January 13, Ubisoft announced today.

Escape from Durgesh Prison is not a story-driven expansion, but rather a time-trial challenge that begins within the game’s prison stage. Captured by Pagan Min and stripped of their weapons, players—either alone or with a friend in co-op—must race about Kyrat to recover and upgrade gear before throwing down against Yuma’s forces. Also, it seems, there are no checkpoints.

“To ramp up the challenge, when players die they must start the mission over again and use the knowledge and skills they gained during their previous run through to help them reach their extraction point successfully,” reads the press release.

The DLC will be available for $9.99 individually or as part of Far Cry 4’s obligatory season pass, which runs for $29.99.
