Here’s this week’s Deals with Gold, plus the start of the Countdown to 2015 sale

Tagging along for the ride among the disparate, various Xbox One and Xbox 360 titles on sale this week is the start of Microsoft’s Countdown to 2015 daily and weekly deals.

Today’s Countdown items are all Hobbit-themed, and include Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and its season pass on Xbox One (both 33 percent off), Lego The Hobbit on both Xbox One and Xbox 360 (the former 50 percent off, the latter 67 percent), and Lego Lord of the Rings on Xbox 360 (75 percent off).

As for the weekly deals available only to Gold subscribers, on Xbox One there’s The Crew + Assassin’s Creed Unity bundle that’s 25 percent off, a Crew + Far Cry 4 bundle (also 25 percent off), Thief (67 percent off), and The Evil Within at 50 percent off.

On the Xbox 360 side of Deals with Gold, there’s Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil: Code Veronica X, Resident Evil: Raccoon City, Resident Evil Revelations, Skate 3, Titanfall: Game of the Year Edition, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag’s season pass, and The Evil Within. All of these titles are between 20 to 75 percent off.

There’s also some weekly sale items available to both Gold and Silver members.
