Defiance is now free-to-play on Xbox 360

Trion Worlds has flipped the free-to-play switch for its MMO Defiance on Xbox 360.

The game originally launched for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 back in April 2013. In June 2014, the game switched to a free-to-play model on PC, and following this the PlayStation 3 switch was also made.

From today, players will be able to download the game for free and play through the entire Bay Area and Silicon Valley storylines, with the option of purchasing additional content, such as weapons, costumes, and gear, from the in-game store.

If you previously purchased a copy of Defiance then you will get some additional goodies, including extra inventory slots, character slots, free Patron time, and more. A detailed breakdown of the bonuses can be found below:

  • Character Slots Base: 4

  • Loadouts Base: 5

  • Ark Keycode Base: 75

  • Inventory Slots Base: 70

  • 30-Day Paradise Patron Pass

  • Grant of 1000 Arkforge

  • Existing characters will retain any extra Character, Inventory, Loadout and Ark Keycode capacity they already have above the base numbers listed here.
