The Last of Us art director Nate Wells is now with Tomb Raider’s Crystal Dynamics, the developer announced today on Twitter.
Wow, you can actually smell trees up here. #crystaldynamics #firstday

Wells, who before joining Naughty Dog in 2012 worked at Irrational Games for 13 years, contributing to such titles as Thief: The Dark Project, System Shock 2, and BioShock, left the studio behind Uncharted and TLOU earlier this year, in April, to work with indie outfit Giant Sparrow (The Unfinished Swan).
Wells was one of several notable Naughty Dog employees who departed the company following the suspect circumstances behind Uncharted creator Amy Hennig’s own departure. Hennig is now with EA Visceral working on a Star Wars game.
It is unknown whether Wells is working on Rise of the Tomb Raider, the upcoming follow-up to last year’s Tomb Raider reboot, or an unannounced project.
