Head of Xbox Phil Spencer has shared his thoughts on the recently announced Street Fighter V‘s PlayStation 4 and PC exclusivity.
“Business deals happen. We won’t do all of them. When we have a 1st party franchise in a genre I’d rather invest in ours,” Spencer said in reply to a fan who asked for his thoughts on the deal. The first-party franchise he mentions is Killer Instinct, which is in development at Iron Galaxy.
Street Fighter V was officially announced as a PS4 and PC exclusive during Sony’s PlayStation Experience event this weekend. The game will feature cross-platform online multiplayer, and according to Sony’s Adam Boyes, PS4 ”will be the only console this game ever appears on,” ruling out a potential Xbox One release in the future.
