Far Cry 4’s eight-minute-long “101” [Blood Dragon] offers a crash course in everything you need to know about Kyrat and the game in time for its upcoming release.
The trailer, which features annotations for viewers to choose the topics they’re most interested in, covers the Himalayan nation itself, its inhabitants, the weapons and vehicles available, the skills and crafting protagonist Ajay Ghale will need to survive, Shangri-la, side-quests, and the game’s co-op and PVP components.
In other Far Cry news, creative director Alex Hutchinson confirmed there would not be another Blood Dragon spinoff for this new Far Cry installment while appearing on IGN AU’s Happy Hour podcast. He did, however, indicate that the team at Ubisoft do have something equally as “surprising” in mind.
“It [Blood Dragon] was a great use of the Far Cry 3 base, and had an awesome soundtrack,” Hutchinson told IGN. “But no, you won’t get another one of those. But hopefully we’ll be able to surprise you with something just as much.”
Far Cry 4 launches on Windows PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and Xbox 360 next week, on November 18 in North America and the U.K. and November 20 in Europe and Australia. January 22, 2015 for Japan, but somehow I don’t think they care.
