More than 33 million people have played GTA Online, Heist details coming ‘very soon’

Rockstar has released the Grand Theft Auto Online Census that shares a number of impressive statistics.

According to Rockstar, over 33 million players have played GTA Online from over 224 countries, spending over 2.3 billion hours in the game, and completing 5.9 billion jobs during that time. Other statistics include a breakdown of vehicles and weapons owned, and a look at the most popular clothing options.

“As we gear up to usher an entire new population into Los Santos and Blaine County with the release of Grand Theft Auto V on the PS4 and Xbox One next week – we just wanted to say thank you to the awesome and dedicated players that have made GTA Online such a nonstop thrill over the past year on PS3 and Xbox 360 so far,” Rockstar says. “We may have provided the world and the tools, but it’s really you players who have made the Online world as amazing as it has become.”

The developer added that Online Heists will finally be released as part of the first Grand Theft Auto Online update that follows the release of Grand Theft Auto V on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. “We’ll have some details on that very soon as well,” Rockstar teased.

Grand Theft Auto V will be available on PS4 and Xbox One from November 18.
