New Honda Jazz India Launch To Be Delayed: Update

As per a recent report by ET, Honda Cars India may defer the launch of new facelifted Honda Jazz new model in India. It was earlier reported by ACI in August 2014 that the launch is most likely to happen in Q1 of 2015. But as per the recent reports, Honda Cars is facing some production constrains because of high demand of existing models of car. In the light of the present situation, they may delay the launch of the New Honda Jazz model in India until the production capacity is ample to cater to the increase in demand which is expected after the launch of new Jazz.

Honda has confirmed that the launch will most likely happen in the calendar year 2015 only, but it may not happen in the Q1 or even first half as the demand for existing models is putting a lot of pressure on the present manufacturing capacity. So if you have been waiting eagerly for the launch of new premium hatch from Honda, you may have to wait a few months longer than expected. Honda has confirmed that it will launch the new Honda Jazz in India in 2015. The car will here by March 2015, the news was confirmed to Autocar India by Mr. Hiroshi Kanayama, President and CEO, Honda Car India.

New Honda Jazz after being launched in Thailand last week, is all set to make its way to Indonesia by August 2014 with updates on the styling quotient and a host of additional features. with starting price of THB 555,000 (Rs 9.96 lakhs approx.). The Japanese auto manufacturer had launched its luxurious hatchback model Honda Jazz in the Indian auto market on June 10, 2009. Honda Jazz was made out to be a luxurious small car equipped with all luxurious features of a C-segment luxury sedan that leads Honda Jazz price wise a high end model.

However, Honda used the Honda City platform to build this car for reducing the Honda Jazz price as the overall manufacturing cost would otherwise increase. The launch of Honda Jazz was the entry of Honda in the small car market in India and it did not disappoint. However, this time around the new plans for the Jazz will be revealed in June, following commencement of booking in July. This does not mean India is getting it any earlier, we will still see the Jazz on Indian road only by early 2015. Honda is currently intensifying focus on Mobilio, which is to be launched in July 2014.

Technically, New Honda Jazz 2014 will be powered by 1.5 litre petrol engine that delivers max. power of 120 PS at 6,600 rpm and peak torque of 145 Nm at 4,600 rpm. In Indonesia, it will be available with 5 speed manual and CVT automatic transmission options. However, diesel variant will be introduced in India only, during first quarter of 2015.

The new Honda Jazz is fully loaded to say the least when it comes to its features, which include including 6 AirBags, ABS with EBD, G-Con (G-Force Control System), Vehicle Stability Control, Hill Climb Assist and Emergency Stop Signal. Multimedia System is equipped with a 7″ touchscreen system with smartphone interface, HDMI (High Definition Media Interface) input for audio and video, voice command functions and SIRI eye free mode, apart from HondaLink Software Application for smartphones.If those were not enough some more newfangled features like smart entry, 4 adjustable seating position modes, smartphone holder, tablet computer box, 9 cup holders, trip computer and automatic climate control make the new Honda Jazz seem like something out of a James Bond Flick.
